ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the efficient methods used for tracing endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)after transplantation in injured lung tissue. Methods Thirty clean grade healthy syngeneic SD female rats were divided into three experimental groups(n =10):(1)sham group, rats treated with intravenous phosphate-buffered saline(PBS)instead of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)followed by EPCs graft;(2)PBS-treated group, rats treated with intravenous PBS after intravenous injection of LPS to produce acute lung injury;(3)EPC-treated group, rats treated with EPCs after intravenous injection of LPS to produce acute lung injury. The transplanted EPCs were got from the same genetic species of the SD male rats.Rats of each group were sacrificed 7 days after EPCs transplantation.Their whole lung tissues were harvested to detect the expression of Y-chromosome by using hybridization in situ and RT-PCR assay.Statistic package of SPSS16.0 was used for the data analysis and significant differences between means were evaluated by ANOVA analysis. Results Compared with the other two groups, positive signals of sex-determining region y were found in lung endothelium from the EPC-treated group. Conclusions Y chromosme specific probe can be one of efficient methods for tracing stem cells after transplantation.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) on pulmonary injury and oxygen stress caused by smoke inhalation injury.

METHODSRats inflicted with smoke inhalation injury were employed as the model. WBC in BALF (bronchoalveolar lavage fluid), MPO (myeloperoxidase) activity, hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) content, GSH (glutathione) content and total antioxidant (TAO) capacity in pulmonary tissue were determined.

RESULTSPostinjury WBC in BALF, MPO activity in pulmonary tissue and H(2)O(2) content decreased obviously after NAC treatment. But the pulmonary tissue contents of GSH and ATO increased evidently after the treatment with NAC.

CONCLUSIONNAC treatment could ameliorate pulmonary oxygen stress after smoke inhalation injury. AS a result, the pulmonary antioxidant capacity was improved.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical features and treatment measures of the severe pneumonia in renal transplantation patients. Methods The clinical data of 27 patients with severe pneumonia following renal transplantation was retrospectively analyzed. Results The severe pneumonia in renal transplantation patients had the features such as earlier occurrence, speedy development and mixed infection of multi-bacteria. Twenty-two cases out of 27 patients (81.5%) were rescued successfully, and five cases died. Conclusion The patients with severe pneumonia following renal transplantation should be intensively observed and actively treated. The reasonable application of broad-spectrum antibiotics, breathing sustain and combined measures are the key points of successful treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the expression of neural cell adhesion molecule CD 56 in the human lung cancer and its pathological significance. Methods 59 paraffin imbedded specimens of lung cancers were collected and human small cell lung cancer H128 cell line was cultured. The CD 56 expression in the lung cancer tissues and H128 cells was detected by immunohistochemical method. Results The expression of CD 56 was positive in 35 of 43 NSLC specimens, and the other specimens showed weakly positive staining. All 19 cases of the SCLC specimens showed CD 56 positive staining, 12 specimens of which were strongly positive. There was a significant difference in CD 56 expression between the SCLC and NSCLC. CD 56 was extensively expressed in H128 cells. Conclusion CD 56 might be an ideal tumour marker for SCLC.

ABSTRACT

A c linical study is carried out by the death of acute severe disease and malignant consumptive disease. Results show that the cases of death of acute severe diseases and last salvage are far more than those of malignant consumptive diseases. Moreover, the relations bear more mental pains caused by death of acute severe diseases than by malignant consumptive diseases.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanism of abnormal SPA expression after smoke inhalation injury (SII).The rat model with SII was used to observe the expression of SPA and the level of H 2 O 2 in the lung tissue. EMSA was performed to study the effect of H 2 O 2 on the TTF 1 binding activity in regulating area of SPA gene. The results showed that H 2 O 2 was increased, and the expression of SPA was down regulated in lung tissue after smoke inhalation injury. H 2 O 2 could inhibit the TTF 1 binding activity in SPA regulating area in vitro . Our results suggested that the inhibition of TTF 1 activity by oxidative stress might be the mechanism of abnormal SPA expression after SII.
